The Beginning

In effort to be honest with myself and keep things interesting for you, here are my strengths and weakness, good habits, bad habits, and final goal. With a weekly small goal and hopefully daily or every other day updates about the gym and my food choices, I know I will be able to hit the beach in Mexico looking fabulous. 77 days and counting.

  • Biggest Weakness- I See Food, I Eat Food. This is exactly what happens at the cafe, I order a latte and then anything in the pastry display. This is where the Freshman 15 showed its first signs of life.

  • The Good
    • I LOVE exercise! I would go to the gym a few afternoons and let my homework pile up rather than do my statistics. Working out is not a problem for me unless it is incredibly rainy, and then the walk across campus to the gym is less appealing. Overall, I would rather spend a half hour on the treadmill or elliptical than in the library. (Don't worry, I bring readings!...sometimes).
  • The Bad
    • I eat when I'm bored or stressed. It is a really terrible habit, I'm 90% sure I picked this habit up from my mother and being home for break is not helpful. I'm either bored or stressed about planning for next semester/summer and keeping my parents in the loop. And my mom asks the same questions over and over. (She says she listens, I'm starting to think that's a lie). I also try and "save" calories for later, but when that happens I just eat what I would normally eat and then 50 billion more. Nighttime eating should also be noted as one of my habits to fix. (The cookies on the counter are calling my name. Willpower is not my strongest suit).
  • Goal!
    • My first small goal is to kick my nighttime eating. I will be more mindful about eating. Taste! Savor! Enjoy! This will be my motto for the week. My long term goal is be able to do A)15 real push ups and 10 V ups by March and, ya know,  B) have washboard abs by March 14th. But, I will be okay if A is accomplished B would be a bonus.
Health Trivia! Never refer to what you eat as on a diet, it makes it sound like it will eventually end. Refer to it as your lifestyle choice. The small change in vocabulary will make you rethink your choices.
